Merge branch 'ab/make-clean-depend-dirs' into maint

"make clean" has been updated to remove leftover .depend/
directories, even when it is not told to use them to compute header
dependencies.

  Makefile: clean .depend dirs under COMPUTE_HEADER_DEPENDENCIES != yes
