Merge branch 'kn/git-cd-to-empty'

"git -C '' subcmd" refused to work in the current directory, unlike
"cd ''" which silently behaves as a no-op.

* kn/git-cd-to-empty:
  git: treat "git -C '<path>'" as a no-op when <path> is empty
