1fdd31cf52 receive-pack: release the linked "struct command *" list
Fix a memory leak that's been with us since this code was introduced
in [1]. Later in [2] we started using FLEX_ALLOC_MEM() to allocate the
"struct command *".

4bd0785dc2 tests: don't lose exit status with "test <op> $(git ...)"
As with the preceding commit, rewrite tests that ran "git" inside
command substitution and lost the exit status of "git" so that we
notice the failing "git". This time around we're converting cases that
didn't involve a containing sub-shell around the command substitution.

In the case of "t0060-path-utils.sh" and
"t2005-checkout-index-symlinks.sh" convert the relevant code to using
the modern style of indentation and newline wrapping while having to
change it.

91852b50a6 t/t5522-pull-symlink.sh: use the $( ... ) construct for command substitution
The Git CodingGuidelines prefer the $(...) construct for command
substitution instead of using the backquotes `...`.

The backquoted form is the traditional method for command
substitution, and is supported by POSIX. However, all but the
simplest uses become complicated quickly. In particular, embedded
command substitutions and/or the use of double quotes require
careful escaping with the backslash character.

The patch was generated by:

for _f in $(find . -name "*.sh")
do
	perl -i -pe 'BEGIN{undef $/;} s/`(.+?)`/\$(\1)/smg'  "${_f}"
done

and then carefully proof-read.

41be8ea223 tests: implicitly skip SYMLINKS tests using <prereq>
Change the tests that skipped due to unavailable SYMLINKS support to
use the three-arg prereq form of test_expect_success.

Now we get an indication of how many tests that need symlinks are
being skipped on platforms that don't support them.

fadb5156e4 tests: Skip tests in a way that makes sense under TAP
SKIP messages are now part of the TAP plan. A TAP harness now knows
why a particular test was skipped and can report that information. The
non-TAP harness built into Git's test-lib did nothing special with
these messages, and is unaffected by these changes.

acd2a45b83 Refuse updating the current branch in a non-bare repository via push
This makes git-push refuse pushing into a non-bare repository to update
the current branch by default. To help people who are used to be able to
do this (and later "reset --hard" it in some other way), an error message
is issued when this refusal is triggered, instructing how to resurrect the
old behaviour.

Hosting sites that do not give the users direct access to customize their
repositories (e.g. repo.or.cz, gitorious, github etc.) may further want to
explicitly set the configuration variable to "refuse" for their customers'
repositories.

704a3143d5 Use prerequisite tags to skip tests that depend on symbolic links
Many tests depend on that symbolic links work. This introduces a check
that sets the prerequisite tag SYMLINKS if the file system supports
symbolic links. Since so many tests have to check for this prerequisite,
we do the check in test-lib.sh, so that we don't need to repeat the test
in many scripts.

To check for 'ln -s' failures, you can use a FAT partition on Linux:

$ mkdosfs -C git-on-fat 1000000
$ sudo mount -o loop,uid=j6t,gid=users,shortname=winnt git-on-fat /mnt

Clone git to /mnt and

$ GIT_SKIP_TESTS='t0001.1[34] t0010 t1301 t403[34] t4129.[47] t5701.7
          t7701.3 t9100 t9101.26 t9119 t9124.[67] t9200.10 t9600.6' \
        make test

(These additionally skipped tests depend on POSIX permissions that FAT on
Linux does not provide.)

7f733de04e test-suite: Make test script numbers unique
In order to selectively skip tests, the environment variable GIT_SKIP_TESTS
can be set like this:

  $ GIT_SKIP_TESTS='t1301 t4150.18' make test

That is, its value can contain only the test script numbers, but not the
full script name. Therefore, it is important that the test scripts are
uniquely numbered. This makes it so.
